He has done Great things!

Our church service was extra special yesterday. It was one of those services that the pastor decides at the last minute to change things up a bit. He decided to show us some very real examples of miracles...answers to prayer...right there in our congregation.

The first miracle was a little boy that is very near and dear to my heart....Logan Conner (my cousin's baby who was born with spina bifida). If you've been following this blog at all for a couple of years, you are probably already familiar with him and his story. If not, you can go here to read more about him.

Then we heard from a gentleman in our congregation who has been battling cancer for 5 years. Doctors told him he had a slim chance of living that long. After that, we heard from a lady who was in a head-on collision two years ago. Five people perished in that accident..she was the lone survivor and was not expected to live either. There are many others in our congregation that are living miracles...too many to fit in one service, but for now, I'd like for you to remember these three and their families. I believe God still has more blessings to perform on these three lives and those they come in contact with.

All of these people defied the odds. All of these people are alive and doing better than doctors predicted. Of course, doctors are only human. No matter how intelligent they are and correct in a diagnosis or prognosis, they are not God. God alone is in control of everything. He is the mighty Healer and He continues to do so many great things in our midst! He loves to hear our prayers and He takes delight in answering them.

When I received my email devotion this morning from Family Life, guess what it was about? That's right...remembering the great things He has done, the miracles He has shown us. So I thought I'd share it with you here: God bless you this day...have a great week :)

Song of Hope

Are you having trouble looking ahead at the New Year with hope or optimism? Try looking back first.

No matter how tough the past year has been for you and those you love, there have been undeniable moments where the light of His love has pierced the darkness. Maybe it was through the kind word of another;
or a sacrificial act of giving you received; or a specific encouragement
you read when you opened Scripture.

Whatever it was, remember it today, and know that your wondrous, miracle-working and perfect God is more than able to see you into and beyond the next 12 months as you:

Take your needs to Him in faithful, persistent prayer.
Believe that He will respond to those prayers in His perfect timing and purposes.
