We're having a low-key July 4th celebration this year. My mom is coming over to eat supper with us tonight. Scott's grilling a pork loin and I'm in charge of the sides - corn on the cob and homemade mashed potatoes. Watermelon is for dessert of course....I can't get enough of it!
Just because it's going to be a small gathering doesn't mean it shouldn't be festive and pretty. So I pulled out things I already had on hand for several years and the table was ready in a flash :)
The red & white cloth is plastic for easy clean up. The American flag draped across the middle is also plastic and makes a decorative table runner.
The blue & white plates are "Clearlake" by Noritake. The Midnight Blue Sweet Swirl glasses are also by Noritake. I had red cloth napkins conveniently on hand as well.
(next few photos taken at night with candles lit)
The beautiful white bowl in the center of the table was a find at a silent auction. I added a little greenery and a couple of small flags and it was perfect! Four shiny red votive candles provide a little more light.
It's hard to beat the beauty of our country's colors...red, white, & blue
I'm so thankful to be an American! No matter how messed up things can get here, I still think it's the greatest nation on the earth! I pray that God will heal our land.
Happy 4th of July!
