Living Proof Live proved to be all I anticipated and more. A couple of days later, Beth's message is still sinking in. As I contemplate it, I find myself being reminded over and over again that I am a precious stone - chosen by God to be part of the present day temple. "In Him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in Him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by His Spirit" Ephesians 2:21-22 (NIV).
For the building of the temple in his own day, David chose hewn, or dressed stones as they were the most important building material. These particular stones were roughly shaped for their importance.
Those of us who are in Christ are being shaped to be living stones. If we will allow Him to, God will use the rough areas of our lives to shape us for the particular ministry He has for us in the Body of Christ. Despite our failures and mistakes, we are precious to Him and we are needed to build up the church. There is enough going on this this sinful world to tear us down. We should work to build one another up with our words and our actions and to build up the Body of Christ.
Travis Cottrell and the Living Proof Live Praise Team led us in powerful worship! Travis shared the following verse with us that reminds us that we are precious and chosen by our Creator:
As you come to him, the living Stone - rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him - you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For in Scripture it says: "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame" (1 Peter 2:4-6 - NIV).
Here's a link to a youtube video of one of the songs we did that I fell in love with: The Word of God Has Spoken
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_l-B4ZhLJ0
There should be a link up soon of a recap video of our time in Atlanta. I'll be sure to share as soon as I see it. For now, I will leave you with 7 points from Beth's message:
1. We are summoned to be part of building God's temple.
2. Our individual God-ordained works should scare our flesh to death.
3. God is more than with us. His spirit is in us.
4. We have everything we need to succeed.
5. Our temple also rests its weight upon the holy ground of mercy.
6. The stones God purchased for His temple are precious to Him.
7. Our dedication of God's temple is worthy of ceremony
I won't soon forget the words spoken or the beautiful songs and praises. I will never forget the joy and enthusiasm for God and His Word that Beth Moore exudes! Her love of the Lord is contagious!
God bless you, Beth!
